Coronado, Jose Age 81, passed away peacefully at home, Saturday, August 3, 2013. Jose was born in San Benito, Texas on February 6, 1932 to Victoriano and Cruz Coronado. Jose joined the Army at age 17 and proudly served as a paratrooper in 82nd Airborne in the Korean War. Jose was very active in the Hispanic community and a lifetime member of the Latin American Club. He was a graduate of Northern Illinois University, and received his Masters degree from Loyola University in Chicago. He taught at East Aurora High School for more than 20 years. During his retirement in San Benito, Texas he enjoyed tending his garden and fruit trees. Jose was a voracious reader and loved singing and playing his guitar. He is survived by his wife, Delores Coronado; his four children, Jose R. Coronado Jr., Narda Jeanne Coronado, Luis (Shawna) Coronado, Martin (Leah) Coronado; and two grandchildren, Kelsey Connors and Samantha Coronado; his brother, Gregorio (Guadalupe) Coronado; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Miguel (Enedina) Coronado; his sisters, Margarita (Gregorio) Barron, and Roble Coronado. Private Services will take place Friday morning. A time for family and friends to gather will take place at the Latin American Club, from 1-4 pm on Friday, August 9, 2013. 1331 Dearborn Ave., Aurora, IL 60505.
