Mrs. Francina Benejam, age 95, a resident of Mobile, AL, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2013. She is preceded in death by her husband Luis Benejam. Mrs. Benejam, was born in Spain and lived in Barcelona and Quito, Ecuador for many years before moving to Birmingham, AL. While in Birmingham, she was instrumental in organizing a relief benefit for the 1959 Chilean earthquake. She was featured live on Alabama Educational Television as a Spanish teacher, and she taught Spanish at Altamont School. In Mobile, she was an active member of the New Mobilians and attended Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Mrs. Benejam is survived by her daughters Eulalia Benejam Cobb (Edwin) and Nuria Benejam King (Bruce) and two sisters of Spain. She also leaves to cherish her memory grandchildren Sonya Terjanian (Pierre), Alison Cobb (Kathy Vaughan), Madelyn King, Zachary King and Alex King great-grandchildren Violette and Remy Terjanian. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the family room at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. A memorial mass will be celebrated in the church chapel at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Allen Memorial Home, 735 S.
