JOHN RUSSELL DAMM, 76, of Beulah, died peacefully at home on Monday, January 27, 2014 in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was born February 4, 1937 in Flushing, Michigan and was the oldest of six children born to John and Bess Damm.
He graduated from Flushing High School, attended college at St. Precopius in Lisle, Illinois leaving after three years to attend medical school. He graduated from the Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois. He served in the Army at Fort Polk, Louisiana. He joined a medical practice group as a family practioner in Grand Blanc, Michigan and practiced medicine there for over thirty years.
He was happily married to the late Mary Lou Maginn on July 8, 1960 and they raised four children in Grand Blanc, Michigan. John was an avid golfer, spending many hours practicing and playing at Warwick Hills and Crystal Downs. He enjoyed a good poker game, loved watching sports and ended nearly every day reading in bed. He retired at the age of 62 and split his time between Platte Lake in northern Michigan and Tarpon Springs, Florida.
He is survived by: his wife, Linda Winton; children, Mary Beth Damm (Jeff), Kate Sinkins, John Damm (Sharie), Sara Winstanley (Matt), Jennifer Munch (Ralph) and Andrew Winton; along with ten grandchildren.
His life will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church in Grand Blanc, Michigan on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be held Friday, January 31, 2014, from 3-5 PM and 6-8:30 PM at Hill Funeral Home in Grand Blanc.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Beulah.
