Elouise Adkins DeBlieux

October 19, 1925 — February 19, 2014

Mrs. Elouise Adkins DeBlieux, 88, passed away Wednesday February 19, 2014. She was born in Martin, Louisiana on October 19, 1925 to Ida and Plennie Adkins. She was married to the late J. L. “Sonny Boy” Deblieux. Mrs. Deblieux retired from Peoples bank as head bookkeeper after 23 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church and she enjoyed being a sustainer of Service League of Natchitoches. Elouise spent her life enjoying fishing, shopping, bowling, traveling, and helping others. She was an excellent cook and a great story teller. She loved children, and she enjoyed time spent with her cousins and spoiling her grandchildren. Elouise was preceded in death by her son Barry Freeman DeBlieux, and by her brothers Jimmy Adkins and Rudy Adkins. She is survived by her children, Freddie DeBlieux of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Molly Deblieux Hunt of Alexandria, Louisiana, and Dan David DeBlieux of Natchitoches, Louisiana; her sister, Mildred Adkins Walker of Shreveport, Louisiana; and ten grandchildren, Kimberly Smith and Wendell “Bubbie” Harris of Baton Rouge, Elisa Smith of Winnfield, Louisiana, Rebecca Richey and Kenny Smith of Alexandria, Louisiana, Leah Willis and Blake Deblieux of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Paige, Colt and Koda DeBlieux of Natchitoches, Louisiana. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to the Natchitoches Boys and Girls Club. A memorial service will be held Saturday February 22nd at 3 pm with visitation to start at 1 pm at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home.
