I was just thinking about Mike a few days ago. Hard to believe it's been five years since his passing. I worked with Mike at the Navy Base - Mike was always willing to take on work and learn new things. He had a sweet disposition and great smile. He persevered through life's challenges keeping his head high and charging ahead. He is certainly still missed at the Depot but I know God has given him a new beginning in His Kingdom. Mike's Navy family still keeps him close at heart. Sending warm thoughts to his family and friends.

Dear Stan, Carol and David and family,
I will miss Mike. He was an explorer, seeking the next adventure, looking for that next beautiful vase, or piece of art, or the next great movie or the best restaurant. With his brilliant smile and gungho attitude, he challenged his friends to join him on his next adventure and enjoy life! My prayers for his family and other friends.

My prayer is one of thanks and praise that I knew Mike as a believing and practicing follower of Jesus of Nazareth. Mike was a boyhood friend of my younger brother, James, and the two always remained good friends, a lesson to me in brotherly love. Mike knew James' bride, Nahide, and she loved Mike warmly. May Mike's friends and family rely on the scripture, "Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted."

My thoughts and prayers are with those who knew and loved Mike. I went to Edinboro with Mike. Mike was a nice guy. He had bowling class right before mine. One day, he suggested I use a 16 lb. ball to roll down the bowling ramp. I watched him and used the same one he had used earlier. I scored a 216; the best score of my entire life that day. I've never been able to match it since. And, I owed it to Mike.

Please take comfort in knowing he is heaven with your mom & dad & Jesus.

I remember Mike from when he was little and would run around the house with Hoss making lots of noise and having fun. I remember the example of his courage when he faced what was handed to him after his accident and how he made the best of it. I respect how Mike maintained a good deal of independence.. holding down a job and even things like driving his van down to the Mall in DC for Hoss' graduation! And I admire Mike's perseverance during this last year of one health issue after another..he pressed on and never gave up. All my love to Carol, Dave and Stan and their families.
