NEW MARKET, Ala. – Jeanne Hand Henry, 92, died Saturday, March 22, 2014, in Huntsville, Ala. She was born Dec. 2, 1921, the daughter of Preston James Hand and Beulah Cross Hand. She was widely recognized as a noteworthy historian and Certified Genealogist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Grice Henry (Col. USAF, Ret.), and son, John Wallace Henry.
She is survived by her son, James Victor Henry of New Market, Ala.; a sister, Gwen Hand Gollotte of Biloxi; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 27, in the Henry family section of the Pontotoc City Cemetery in Pontotoc with Dr. Robby White officiating. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the local arrangements.

Ms Jeanne was as beautiful and kind as she was intelligent. Though I only knew her the last few years, I could tell she was special. I valued her friendship and offer my condolences to her family.

What a great lady! What a privilege to have worked with Mrs. Henry on several occasions in the Heritage room & over the telephone over the last 25 years on several projects we were both researching. I will greatly miss her!
