TUPELO – Josephine Walker, 83, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014, at Sanctuary Hospice House surrounded by her family after an extended illness. She was the second child born in Lee County to Lonnie and Willie B. Wallace Hill. She was a former member of White Hill M.B. Church. Later in life she moved her membership to Victory Temple Outreach Ministry where she remained until her death. She was a retired surgical technician employee of North Mississippi Medical Center. After retirement, she and her husband, J.C. Walker, established Walker's Clean-Up Shop. She truly lived each day as if everyday with Jesus was sweeter than the day before. She was described by many as a woman of God, soft spoken and with much integrity.
A celebration of life service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at Bishop H.L. Coleman Global Pacific Diocese Church in Tupelo with the Pastor Willie Thornton officiating. Burial will follow in the Porter's Memorial Park with Grayson-Porter's Mortuary in charge of the arrangements. Online condolence can be made to the Walker family at www.grayson-porters.com.
She is survived by three daughter, Dorothy (Pastor Willie) Thornton of Belden, Katherine (Pastor Clarence) Agnew of Tupelo, Mary Nell (Deacon Earnest) Arnold of Nettleton; two sons, the Rev. Joseph (Janice) Walker of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Bishop Richard (Shariah) Walker of Tupelo; one sister, Jessie Hankins of Verona; two brothers, Charles Hill and Robert James, both of Tupelo; one stepdaughter, Betty Collier of Tupelo; one stepson, Robert (Bessie) Walker of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sisters-in-laws, Linda Bell of Verona, Luna Walker of Tupelo, Hattie Walker of Blue Spring; two brothers-in-law, Lowell Walker Sr. and Willie Ligon Sr., both of Tupelo; her goddaughters, Amanda Stovall and Jacque Grayson, both of Tupelo, Tonza DeBerry of Jackson, Lula Brown of Tupelo; godson, Robert Patton, Jr. of Belden; special nephew, James Walker; 25 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three sisters, Clytee Watkins, Ruthie Mae Pannell and Lorine Ligon; and three brothers, George Hill, Houston Hill and Delois Hill.
The body will lie in repose at 3 p.m. today at Victory Temple Church with the family hour 6 until 7 p.m.

To the family it sadden my heart to hear about the home going of Mrs Josephine. she was one of the sweetest women that you could ever meet with that sweet smile and soft voice she will truly be missed i will keep you in my prayers
