I was so shocked to hear of the passing of my dear friend Alice. I will miss our weekly conversations and early morning breakfasts...I will miss her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time.

Many years ago my brother Donald excitedly told my Mom and me that he had met this most wonderful woman. Not only was she terrific, but she had two young sons who were adorable. They married and he was right. My sister-in-law Alice was a generous person who loved her family and Don's Family. Alice you will always be held in my heart.

Alice was an original member of the West Scarborough Neighbourhood Community Centre's Seniors Writing Group four years ago. She has been loved and appreciated by the members. Alice focused on memoire writing to share with her grandchildren. They, like us, learned about Alice's travels by boat and train from Newfoundland to Toronto when she was a small girl. She arrived at Union Station and then her first Toronto home on Elm Street in East Toronto and her first day at school. We have been entertained by the wonderful characters Alice described and we loved her special expressions and unique turns of a phrase. On behalf of the Writing Group I want to express our deep sympathy and condolences to Alice's family and friends.

So shocked to hear of the passing of my Red Hat Sister Alice. Although I didn't know her long I was very fond of Alice. I loved her stories and her laugh. She always had a glimmer of mischief in her eyes (I loved that). I will miss her.
Rest in peace.
