JOSEPH HAYDEN POWERS March 21, 1929 - April 16, 2014
Mr. Powers was born in Coalville, WV on March 21, 1929 to the late Earl and Fay Powers. He worked as a coal miner until he joined the US Army. After discharge, he and his wife Irene move to Springfield, VA where he was active in the heating and air conditioning industry. He and Irene were active members of Springfield Christian Church. Survivors include his wife of 65 years Irene Powers of Springfield, VA, brother Charles Powers of Preston, CT, and special caregiver Jessie Josephs.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 22 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 11 a.m. at the Springfield Christian Church, 5407 Backlick Rd, Springfield, VA 22151.
