Lola B. Russell
CHILLICOTHE: Lola B. Russell, 87, of Chillicothe, died 3:55 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014 in Westmoreland Place following an extended illness.
She was born September 20, 1926, in Ross County, to the late Harry and Josephine Stevens Ingham. On March 24, 1951, she married Roy V. Russell who preceded her in death on December 15, 2006.
Surviving are sons, Michael (Linda) Russell, David (Christy) Russell, and Terry (Bonnie) Russell, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Julie (Gary) Ingo, Jennifer (Andrew) Perkins, Diana (Shane) McCollister, Doug Russell and fiancee Lindsey Dix, Danny Russell, Amy (James) Turner, and Andy (Andrea) Russell; great grandchildren, McKinley, Bryce, Hunter, Emma, and Paisleigh; brothers, Carroll Ingham, Richard Ingham, and Larry Ingham; sisters, Bernice Anderson, Mary Baxter, and Eloise Graves; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Harry and Russell Ingham and one sister, Anna Detty.
Lola was a cook at Southeastern Schools before her marriage. After marriage, she chose to be a stay-at-home mom to her three boys. Lola was very active at The First Church of God and served as church treasurer for many years. She was also involved in church's children's ministry, vacation bible school, WCG, and Sunday school classes.
Lola had her priorities straight. She loved her God, her husband, her sons and their families, her church, her extended family, and everyone she met. Her life was a shining example of a Christian, both humble and steadfast.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staffs of Westmoreland Place, Heartland Hospice, and Adena Healthcare for their exceptional care.
Her life will be celebrated at the First Church of God, 780 East Water Street on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Matt Roe officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
