Joshua J. Perkins 30, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 11, 2014. He was a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne and worked as a quality control specialist in the automotive industry. He also worked in various areas of building construction and was an accomplished wood worker. Josh attended North Side High School and Purdue University at West Lafayette, IN achieving placement on both the Honors and Chancellor’s list. “Josh was a kind and generous man who would put the needs of others before himself and exhibited his compassion for the less fortunate in many ways. He loved to cook and enjoyed pleasing others with his creations. A devoted son, brother, grandson, uncle and nephew who was loved by all.” Josh is survived by his father, Joseph Perkins of Fort Wayne, grandfather, William Perkins Sr. of Fort Wayne, brothers, Joseph Perkins Jr. of Chicago, IL, and Jacob Perkins of Fort Wayne; sisters, Jessica (Tony) Nelson of Fort Wayne, Jannah (Matt) Mendez of Fort Benning, GA and Jennifer (Gerald) Brown of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his mother Janice Perkins who died in 2009. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday June 18, 2014 at St. Jude Catholic Church, corner of State Blvd. and Randallia Dr. Visitation will be 1 hour before the Mass and also 5 – 8 Tuesday at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd. Burial in the Catholic Cemetery.
