I knew Jan in our younger blood banking days. She was accomplished professionally but more so she was a kind and caring person. May she rest in peace.

Jan, was a very accomplished Blood Bank and Medical Laboratory Scientist. She was the civilian Blood Bank Supervisor at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD for 7 years. Her accomplishments included the education and training of hundreds of officers and enlisted personnel in providing vital hematologic and immunological tests for combat casualties located throughout the world. She also established the only AABB reference laboratory in the US military and one of only fifteen in the nation in 1977. Jan, did so much for the Navy Blood Program, her impact and professionalism will never be forgotten by many. May her soul and spirit rest in peace, forever.

Janice was my neighbor. She was a very nice person and whenever I saw her we said hello. We bonded over passing out candy every Halloween to the kids, shoveling snow during Snowmeggedon and other storms, watering our yards, etc. She loved puttering in the garden and sitting on her deck in the summer sun with a good book and a glass of wine. She will be missed.
