DeMeur, William P. CASTLETON William P. "Willie" DeMeur, 80, of Castleton, died on Friday, July 4, 2014, at Evergreen Commons. William was born in Albany to the late George and Josephine DeMeur. He was a truck driver for various companies before retiring. Willie was most known for his woodworking on Miller Road and watching stock car racing and his beloved dog Benny. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Predeceased by his wife, Mary Lou Stanley DeMeur, and two sisters, Elizabeth Scott and Josephine Sicora. William is survived by his one daughter, Debbie (Richard) Corbett, and three grandchildren, Nicole (Brian) Forth, Kyle Corbett, and Travis Corbett. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral at 6 p.m., on Monday, July 7, 2014, from the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, Inc., 165 Columbia Tpke., Rensselaer. Friends may call in the funeral home on Monday, from 4 to 6 p.m., prior to the service. Interment will be private in Woodlawn Cemetery, East Schodack.

To the members of Willie's family. We are so sorry for your loss. I visited Willie in May as I always did when I returned to the Albany area. I met Willie in 47' during my first year as the hired man at Tom Auer's farm. We became instant friends.You should have seen the smile on Willies face when I came home from Korea with a brand new Harley. Even his Father George took it for a ride. I will miss him greatly.
