David Schopfer Obituary

David Gerard Schopfer, age 62, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 21, 2014. He was born August 12, 1951 in New Orleans, LA. He was a graduate of East Jefferson High and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism from Louisiana State University in 1975. He was a life-long avid sports and LSU fan and enjoyed traveling. He was the beloved husband of Kathy Urrata Schopfer for 38 Years. Father of Jared Schopfer (wife, Amanda) and Lindsay Erdem (husband, Mehmet). Paw Paw of Kali and Dominic Schopfer and Altan and Alex Erdem. Brother of Edward Schopfer (wife, Jane), Greg Schopfer (wife, June) and Terri Whitley (husband, John). Son of the late Edward Schopfer and Gloria Fletchinger Schopfer. Nephew of Sister Therese Fletchinger. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Saturday morning, July 12, 2014 beginning at 9:00 AM with a Memorial Mass to follow at 11:00 AM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home's chapel.
