Services for Sylvia "Sissy" Sweetser, 73, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014 in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, with Bro. Roy Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Sweetser was born March 17, 1941 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of the late Dessie (Thatcher) and Cecil Green. She passed away Monday, July 7, 2014 at her residence.
Mrs. Sweetser was a loving wife and homemaker. She loved her family. She enjoyed crafts and loved animals. She always took in strays.
Survivors include her husband, Arnold Sweetser of Lufkin; sisters, Brenda Allred and Linda Hairston; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sweetser was preceded in death by her sister, Lydia Cauthen; and stepfather, Earnest P. Sowell.
Pallbearers will be Josh Yount, Robert Yount, Derek Rita, Hal Wayne Greer, Shelby Meeser, Mike Morgan, and Christopher Fillip.
The family will receive friends from noon until service time at the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
