I remember spending evenings with Doug as he and I did homework for the statics and dynamics course work at Kansas State University. After graduating, we would meet at the many professional organization events. He was steadfast in his work, and I will celebrate his life!

Jenny, Faith and Ben, Over the last five or so years I've had the privilege of working with Doug on a number of levee projects. We spent a lot of time together walking and talking, and I'm sure that we spent as much time talking about our families as we did about talking about levees. You didn't have to know Doug long to know what his priorities were. He was such a wonderful person, and I will miss him greatly. I am so sorry for your loss and you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Jenny, Ben and Faith - I have had the privilege of knowing Doug though working with him on projects. I knew him as a great engineer and I know he was a great husband and father. You have been in my prayers since I heard. There has been a great disturbance in the engineering force. He will be missed.

We knew Doug through his work for the City of Gypsum. I was City Clerk, my husband Larry was Mayor. I have a feeling the stairway to heaven will be sturdier when we climb those stairs to see him again. Such a kind and intelligent person. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
