Betty M. Wymore
GORHAM -- Betty M. (Berglund) Wymore, of Gorham, died on July 6, 2014. She was born in Cambridge, Minn., on Jan. 12, 1929, the daughter of Alvin and Thora Berglund. She was the oldest of four children. Her mother died when she was 12 years old.
She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1947, and attended Gustavus Adolphus College. She graduated from Iowa State University in 1952, after which she worked in the test kitchen of Better Homes and Gardens.
In 1953, she married Loren Wymore and they lived in Ames, Iowa, Framingham, Mass., and Barrington, R.I. After his death in 1997, she moved to Scarborough and wintered in Jupiter, Fla. In 2008, she moved to The Gorham House in Gorham.
She was a wonderful homemaker, loving mother and grandmother. Throughout her life, she was active in her churches and in community service.
Betty was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Berglund who died in 2000. She is survived by her son, Scott Wymore and his wife Mary Ann of St. Louis, Mo., her daughters, Ann Dean and her husband William of Scarborough, and Donna Severance of Jupiter, Fla.; her grandchildren, Brian Dean of Blackstone, Mass., Kimberly Bernard of Hermon, Kristen Wymore of St. Louis, Mo., and Sawyer, Harper and Cannon Severance of Jupiter, Fla.; great- grandchildren, Nolan and Mackenzie Dean of Blackstone, Mass.; and brothers, Alvin and Robert Berglund.
Thanks and appreciation to The Gorham House for providing a pleasant and caring place in which to live during the last years of her life.
A service in her memory will be held on Friday, Aug. 1, at 11 a.m., at the West Scarborough United Methodist Church, 2 Church St., in Scarborough. She will be buried in Barrington, R.I. Arrangements made by Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Rd., South Portland.
