ST. MARYS - Cecilia Miriam Prechtl, 78, of St. Marys, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Monday (July 14, 2014).
Cecilia was born Feb. 18, 1936, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Dorothy Simbeck and Jerome Nicklas.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys schools.
On Dec. 15, 1951, she married her husband Albert in the Sacred Heart Church. Cecilia and her husband were the owners of Elk Cameron Bus Lines, St. Marys Equipment Company Inc., and Eagle Express Trucking Inc.
Cecilia was a member of the Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed walking, cooking, traveling, and her dogs, Girlfriend and Beau.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Albert A. Prechtl; two daughters, Christine Prechtl and Jacqueline (Michael) Pearsall, both of St. Marys; three sons, Wayne (Rita) Prechtl, Edwin Prechtl, and Louie Prechtl, all of St. Marys; five grandchildren, Shari (John) Walton, Dana (Terri) Prechtl, Andrea Prechtl, Savannah and Michael Pearsall; six great-grandchildren, Corey and Tre'von Walton, Brandon, Gracie, Julian, and Ethan Prechtl; a sister, Frances Zimmerman of St. Marys; and a brother, Paul (Patricia) Nicklas of St. Marys.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Walker.
There will be no visitation.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church at noon on Wednesday with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elk County Catholic High School, 600 Maurus Street, St. Marys, PA 15857, the Community Nurses, Inc., 757 Johnsonburg Road, Suite 200, St. Marys, PA 15857, or the St. Marys Ambulance Service, 773 Johnsonburg Road, St. Marys, PA 15857.
The Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
