Judy K. Van Ryzin

Judy Van Ryzin, 83, died Tuesday, July 15, 2014, peacefully in her sleep at home, while surrounded by her loving family.

Judy is survived by the blended family that she loved so much; her husband Eugene "Gene", her sons David (wife Misao), children Jenny and Ryan, Cupertino, CA; granddaughter Cari Lyn (husband Darrell Phillips); Paul (wife Tammy), son Alex, Cedarburg, WI; Steven (wife Laura) children Amy and Erin, Belleville, IL. Gene's children; Michael (wife Carol), children Kathy and Marcia, Appleton, WI; Sharon (husband Al Miller), many exchange students she grew to love, Wausau, WI; Diane (husband Mark Vanden Berg), children Savannah and Lenae, Oshkosh, WI; Karen (husband Michael Wallner), children Matthew (wife Jamie), Melissa, and Aaron (wife Ashley), Stevens Point, WI; Lori (husband Rob Sawyer) children Amy (husband Ben Behnke), Kendra (husband Jacob Anderson) and Reese, Almond, WI; Patrick (wife Marlis), daughter Annika, Bradenton, FL. The great grandchildren; "The Munchkins" Isabelle, Lucy, Loretta, Geneva, Lauren, and Isaac. Her Puggle Bam-Bam. Her special sister-in-law Jane Ziem, Milwaukee.

When Gene and Judy married in 1985, Judy retired from the Department of Transportation, Milwaukee, WI and moved to Stevens Point, WI. In 1986, they moved to Minocqua, WI and resided there for 15 years before returning to Stevens Point. During her life Judy served in many organizations; American Legion Auxiliary as local and district president and many chairmanships on the state level; Ladies of Columbus as charter president; Knights of Columbus in Minocqua; Hospital Auxiliary at Howard Young Medical Center in Minocqua as president and secretary of state organization; volunteer at veterans home in King, WI; managed Lifeline program at Howard Young Medical Center in Minocqua; Rosary Society at St. Stanislaus Church in Stevens Point; and an officer with St John's Court #1807 Catholic Order of Foresters.

In her free time, Judy enjoyed playing bridge, cheering on the Brewers and Green Bay Packers, going up north, and having picnics at Madeline Lake in Minocqua. Being an only child, her blended family meant so much to her. She enjoyed getting together with them as often as she could.

She is preceded in death by her son James "Jim", her first husband Harry, her parents, and many friends that she goes to join in heaven.

A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 19, 2014 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with Rev. Thomas Lindner presiding. Visitation will be held at Boston Funeral Home on Friday, July 18 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with an American Legion Post 6 Auxiliary ritual at 6:30 p.m., followed by a Rosary. Visitation will also be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 21, 2014 in King Cemetery, King, WI.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her name at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.bostonfuneralhome.net.
