John D. Duffy, 69, of Union, N.J., passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2014, in the Cornell Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Union.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Monday, July 21, 2014, in the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, N.J., at 8 p.m. Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday. For online condolences to the family, please go to www.mastapeterfuneralhome.com
Born and raised in Summit, N.J., Mr. Duffy moved to Kenilworth, N.J., in 1995 and had lived in Union for the past 15 years.
He was a graduate of Summit High School and the Eastern School for Physicians' Aides in New York City, graduating in 1964.
He was a postal worker in Summit and later worked as a phlebotomist for the Sandoz Pharmaceutical Company in East Hanover, N.J.
Mr. Duffy was predeceased by his parents, John L. and Josephine Duffy (nee Cochario).
Surviving are his two dear sisters, Patricia Ponzio and her husband, Nicholas, and Clare Jane Vardalis; four nieces and nephews, and three great nieces and nephews
His intellect, caring nature and great wit will be missed by all.
