DePaul, Salvador A. MECHANICVILLE Salvador A. DePaul, 95, of No. Main Street, died Sunday evening, July 20, 2014 at Schuyler Ridge, after a brief illness. A native and lifelong resident of Mechanicville, born Christmas Day, 1918, son of the late Frank and Laura DePaul, Sal worked for a number of years for the former Reiss's Textile Co. of Waterford, and previously for Verdicchio Cleaners and Decca Records. Sal enjoyed music and thoroughbred racing, and was a lifelong NY Yankee fan. Sal was a devoted member of All Saints on the Hudson Roman Catholic Church in Mechanicville. Even though never having children, Sal's nieces and nephews and his longtime companion's family were treated like his own. Survivors include his two sisters, Jennie Fusco of San Diego and Carmela Montarello of Troy; longtime companion Ida Sliwinski of Waterford and her family; along with nieces, nephews and their families. Sal was predeceased by sister, Gilda Fruci and brothers, Joseph "Pep", Sam and Dominick DePaul. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 25 at noon at All Saints Church, 121 No. Main St. Burial in St. Paul's Cemetery. Visitation at All Saints Church on Friday from 10 -11:30 a.m. Remembrances may be made to All Saints Church Endowment Fund in loving memory of Salvador A. DePaul.
