Gordon Megibow, 71, of Monroe Township, N.J., died Monday, July 21, 2014, at his home.
Born and raised in Irvington, N.J., Gordon graduated cum laude from Dartmouth in 1965. He then went on to receive a master's degree in teaching from Harvard.
He taught briefly in the Vista program before joining the Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Co., Newark, N.J., as an insurance and pension actuary; he worked there for many years and attained both FSA and Enrolled Actuary designations. Later, he joined the firm of Blaze SSI in Brielle, N.J., as a consulting actuary prior to his retirement.
Predeceased by his parents, Isaiah Charles Megibow and Regina Megibow, he is survived by his brother, Stuart Megibow, and sister-in-law, Joan Megibow of East Brunswick, N.J.; and nieces, Maureen Megibow of Medford, N.J., and Alyson Mroczko, Madison, N.J.
Private cremation services were entrusted to Spotswood Funeral Home (spotswoodfuneralhome.com).

Gordon was my friend since 1954. We were planning to have our usual lunch and conversation as we often did. Those who knew Gordon will be saddened by his passing as I was.
