Nancy Agnes Jennings Allanson SchenectadyNancy Agnes Jennings Allanson, 75, died at her home in Schenectady, Tuesday, July 29, 2014. Born in Albany, the daughter of Francis and Janet Geddes Jennings, she attended Vincentian Institute and St. Luke's School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse at Albany Medical Center, Harrisburg (PA) Psychiatric Hospital and retired as a nursing supervisor at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. Nancy was renown for her artistic stitcheries, her prolific knitting, her sweaters, socks, caps and gloves will be keeping people warm for many years to come. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bernard; their daughter, Janet Allanson Valsing Kline of Latham; three granddaughters, Rachel Valsing Kline, Agnes Kline and Estelle Kline; two great-grandsons, Aidan Coldsmith and Banner Patterson; a sister, Patricia Benedict of Tacoma, WA and a brother, John Jennings of Naraganset, RI. Nancy was predeceased by their son, Lars E. Allanson. Funeral service Thursday evening 6 p.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Dear Nancy's Family, I am so sorry for your loss and wanted to express my condolences. One can never be prepared for the empty void that's left when our loved ones die, our heavenly father promises to give you the strength to live each day and he says "I have heard your prayers, I have seen your tears, I will help you. 2 Kings 20:5. May the “God of all comfort” be with your family and may your cherish memories of Nancy be a healing force of strength for your family to draw on; lean on your loves ones and our heavenly Father's ability to strengthen you during the days ahead.
