Paul A. Burke, age 81, loving husband of Margaret E. (Crooks) Burke of Swampscott, formerly of Marblehead, died Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House surrounded by his family. Born in Lynn, the son of the late Vincent W. and Helen (Owens) Burke, he grew up at Littles Point, Swampscott. He attended Shore Country Day School, Cranwell Preparatory School in Lenox, MA and received his Bachelors Degree from Boston College. During the Korean War, Mr. Burke proudly served in the United States Army. Following his discharge, Mr. Burke followed in his fathers footsteps in the family companies which include Taunton Pearl Works, Colonial Cutting Die, Eastern Die Corp, and Bee Machine Corp. He was also an importer and distributor of Robert Piquet Perfumes, Pierre Cardin Perfumes, Cosma Droga of Germany. He was also the owner and Developer of Highland Realty Trust. Mr. Burke had been a member of the Tedesco Country Club in Marblehead, the Salem Country Club in Peabody, the Corinthian Yacht Club in Marblehead, as well as the the La Gorce Country Club in Miami Beach, Florida, the Port and Shot Gun Club and the Danvers Fish and Game Club. Mr. Burke was also an avid fisherman. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Helen Victoria Burke of Salem and Paul Anthony Burke Jr., of Marblehead, MA and Fort Lauderdale, FL a son in law, Jeffrey Oppenhiem of Hamilton, MA; a brother Vincent W. Burke, Jr. of Jupiter, FL; two grandchildren, Burke and Tucker Oppenheim of Salem; many nieces and nephews, and loving friends, loving friends, the Honorable, Joseph L. Tauro family. His funeral will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St, Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visitation will be prior to the service on Saturday from 9:30 A.M to 11:00 A.M. in the Murphy Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
