I grew up on 36th street and remember Pete and the Astorino family so well. His folks and his Aunt NINA, who I lived next door to, were great people. Reading Bobby Lumley's message brought back to many memories of the people I grew up with on 36th street and I remember them all with fond memories. I kept in touch with Anne Astorino until her passing a couple years ago. I miss you all.
Rest in Peace, dear Petie.

As a young man in the 1940's, Pete saw the 36th Street gang: Billy Astorino; Charlie and Ralph Palazzo; Pudge and Jerry Mudrock; Janet and Raymond Grubbs; Mary (Mertzie) Merva; and Bobby and Sissy Lumley, grow up and come of age. He always had a smile on his face, and gave us words of encouragement. Thanks for everything, Pete, we'll always remember you.

His laughter and multiple ways to cook a meatloaf. For a long time he was Dad and Mom and he loved people unconditionally.

I loved Uncle Pete! He started me bowling and brought me to the lanes for my first bowling ball which I still have.
