Virginia Prevost, age 77, a longtime resident of Biloxi passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014 in Lucedale.
Ms. Prevost had previously worked as a cook at Keesler AFB. She was a member of Ramsay Hills Baptist Church of Ocean Springs, and she lived to serve to Lord. Virginia loved to read her bible, and to sing and play her guitar. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Pearlie Burkhalter; and her sister, Melvinia Gibson.
She is survived by her four children: Allen Joseph Prevost of Perkinston, Zerelda Jane Barbulescu and her husband GiGi, of Vancleave, Julie Victoria Kahl of Agricola, and Lisa Marie Thornton and her husband Charles, of Vancleave; nine grandchildren: Bridgett Prevost, Jessica Prevost Mason, Nicole Thibodeaux, Douglas Kahl, Tiffany Thornton, Channing Thornton, Colton Thornton, Tyler Thornton, and Dakota Bird; five great-grandchildren: Taylor Wiggins, Lona Baragar, Kathryn Mason, Alyson Mason, and Caryann Mason; her brother, Edward Burkhalter, and his wife Kathaleen; and many other loving family and friends.
The Memorial Service will be at 6:00 p.m. on Friday Evening, August 15, 2014 at Ramsay Hills Baptist Church, 13300 Joe Batt Road, Ocean Springs, MS 39565 (228) 392-1752), with visitation one hour prior to the service. The graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Old Chapel Cemetery (use 201 Wilson Road, Collins, MS 39428 for GPS).

Julie, Lisa, Zerelda, Allen and Family. We were so sorry to hear about Virginia. She has fought a long and hard fight, and she will be missed dearly. God Bless her, and all of your during this time.

Mama my sweet angel you have left us to go to a better place where you can visit with the ones who's went before you : sing,laugh,walk those roads of gold with no pain just joy and rejoice in jesus and all that he has saved for you give granny, grandpa, aunt mel,uncle dewitt and granny nancy uncle jessie a hug from me and them break out the old guitar and sign to jesus. you have waited so long to do so. we will see each other again in a place of only happiness and joy. till then I love You

We are so sorry to hear of the loss of Mrs. Virginia .She was an awesome woman who loved life, lord & her family very much ..She was always a very kind & LOVING woman .. We will miss her singing ..
