Donald C. Kaiser, 84, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at St. Luke's hospital. Don was born to George and Caroline Kaiser on December 18, 1929 in Maumee, OH. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Holland, where he permanently resided. He graduated from Holland High school in 1947. Don married his high school sweetheart, Rita Wilczynski, on September 17, 1949 at Our Lady of Lourdes church in Toledo. He served with the army during the Korean conflict.
He worked as a superintendent for E. K. Bridge Construction Company for over 35 years. He owned and operated K & S Excavating Company for several years. Don served on the Holland Village Council from July 1978 to July 1985 where he was the Commissioner of Village Streets and Sewer department. After retirement he and his wife extensively traveled and spent the winters in Florida where he was actively involved in the Bayshore Windmill Community. He became an avid golfer and made a hole in one on April 8, 1995. Don enjoyed hunting but he was passionate about his yard. His dry humor and quick wit will be missed by all.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Rita, children Debra A. (Anselmo Marquez), Donald A. (Tammy), and five grandchildren, Justin (Amanda), Matthew, Stephen, Jackson, and Douglas Emerson. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and son, Douglas.

Please accept my deepest sympathies. The Kaisers are good people, and Mr. Kaiser's life was a good life, well lived. Dad always spoke highly of him, and both Mom and Dad were blessed to have the Kaisers as friends. Hugs to all. Janet
