Marion Barbara Evans of Dallas passed away Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, at The Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas.
Marion was born in Chicago, daughter of the late William and Marion Murray Toy, and was a graduate of the Catholic schools of New York.
She was a member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas, the Altar and Rosary Society and the choir of Gate of Heaven Church.
She was a columnist for The Sunday Independent in Wilkes-Barre.
Surviving are her daughters, Barbara Anne Evans, Dallas; Carol Honko and her husband, Anthony, Toledo, Ohio; Christine Moran, Nesquehoning; and Jean Evans, Sweet Valley; son, Attorney Matthew W. Evans, Palermo, Maine; sister, Joanne Mallozzi, Largo, Fla.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
