Ragan, Jackson C. Jr. "Jack" Jackie",
79, of Taylorsville, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Robley Rex VAMC in Louisville.
He was born on June 24, 1935 in Anchorage, KY, the son of the late Jackson Charles Ragan, Sr. and Mariam Baker Ragan.
Jack was retired from Sears and Robuck Co. after 33 years as a sales associate. He was a proud Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #201.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Pat Pulliam and a brother, Clay Ragan.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Cleta Sparkman Ragan; son, Jackson Kelly Ragan (Brandy); four grandchildren, Kelsey, Annabelle, Jackson Ragan and Haylee Sanders. He is also survived by his siblings, Edwin Ragan (Shirley), Norvin Ragan (Elizabeth), June Jeffiers (Paul), Hallie Yochum, Mary Johnson (Charles), Bonnie Lamb (Jim), Dollie Dixon and Sharon Adams (Don) and many other loving extended family and friends.
His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road, East Louisville with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Mt. Washington. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
I lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions may be made to an educational fund set up for the grandchildren at the First Capital Bank of Kentucky.
