FORTUNATI, JOSEPH "FORTE" 91, passed away on August 26, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Doris (Benoit) Fortunati for over 53 years and son of the late Fabio and Annunziata (DeSantis) Fortunati. Joseph was the owner of the Shoe Horn on Mineral Spring Avenue in North Providence. He was a member of the American Guild of Variety Artists Musicians. Besides his dear wife, he is survived by his son, David Whitlock and his wife, Doe, two granddaughters, five great grandchildren, a brother, Albert Fortunati, and a sister, Mary Ranallo. He was the brother of the late Catherine Christopher, Rose Boissee, Phillip and Robert Fortunati. Calling hours Thursday, 5:00 8:00 PM in the A. A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St. Providence. Funeral Friday at 8 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM in The Church of the Presentation, 1081 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. To the family of Mr. Fortunati,
My mom used to take me and my sisters to the Shoe Horn for years. Not fond of the school shoes, but loved my Keds sneakers. They were always fitted with care. I am sorry for your loss, and pray that you find peace in knowing of his love for all of you.
