Jan 28, 1928 – Aug 28, 2014 John was born in Morris, AL, and passed away at the age of 86. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict and worked for Jefferson County Roads Department for 50 years. John was preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years, Irma B. Reid; a son, John Reid; son in law, J.R. Hannon. He is survived by his step sons, Roger Brom (Marty) and Doug Brom (Becky); step daughter, Linda Hannon (J.R.); 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; other family members and friends. A graveside service will be held in Moncrief Cemetery in Gardendale, AL, on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 2:00pm. The family request in lieu of flowers that donations be made in his honor to the Kid One Transport, 3535 7th Court South, Birmingham, AL 35222.
