Garnett L. Hicks, 63
HARRELLS — Mr. Garnett Linwood Hicks, 63, of 230 DeVane Farms Road, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2014 at his residence.
He was veteran of the U.S. Army, and also a farmer.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5 at Kyle's Farm, 380 Ward Road, Harrells. Burial will follow in the Hicks Cemetery, 230 DeVane Farms Road, Harrells.
Mr. Hicks is survived by his wife, Susan C. Hicks; one son, Mark Linwood Hicks, of Raleigh; one daughter, Kimberly Cash of Harrells; one brother, Garland T. Hicks of Charlottesville, Va.; one sister, Linda Major of Waynesboro, Va.; seven grandchildren Stephen, Wesley, Cassidy, Ciara, Araya, Braxton and Brayden.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Sept. 4, from 6-8 p.m., at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Community Health Care & Hospice, 216 Beaman St., Clinton, NC 28328.

I didnt know Mr Hicks. But I have heard a lot of great things about him. My prayers go out to the family in this time of sorrow.
