It is with sadness that we announce that Jim passed away on July 22, 2014 at Dufferin Place, Nanaimo.
He is survived by his wife Joanna, children: Kathryn ( Gary), Rob and Gord, grand children: Patrick (Michelle), Kathleen (Brian), Kyle and Samantha, great grandchildren: Isabelle, Elodie, and Madeline.
Jim was born in Longford Mills, Ontario and met Joanna at a YMCA dance in Vancouver, BC--they were married for 59 years. Jim worked many years for Nanaimo Realty and Cunningham and Rivard before retiring to Parksville BC. There he enjoyed hiking, photography, gardening, and hearing the latest news regarding his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved his family and he loved to laugh---we shall miss him very much.
A Memorial will be held at First Memorial, 1720 Bowen Rd., Nanaimo, September 20, 2014 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Celiac Association.

It is with great sadness that I learned of Jim's passing. I worked with Jim at C&R Appraisals from 1988 to 1992. His humor and cheerfulness brightened the office. I wish to express my heartfelt condolences to his family. - Jackie Monkman
