PAYNE, Joan (1922 – 2014) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Payne, at Cowichan District Hospital, on Saturday, August 30, 2014. She was predeceased by her husband Clifford (June, 2010). Joan is survived by her son Richard and daughter-in-law Andrea in Duncan, BC; her grandchildren Derek (Janna) in Vernon, BC; Nicole (Darryl) in Guelph, ON; Steven (Wendy) in London, ON; and Kristin (Greg) in Denfield, ON. Joan also had four great-grandchildren: Jamie, Abby, Elayne and Alice. Joan spent the last four years of her life at Cerwydden Care in Duncan. A special thank you to all the nurses & staff who took care of her, particularly Laura, Crystal, Diane and Pam Webster. Also thank you to Dr. N. Jahnke, the nurses and staff on 2 South and the emergency staff at CDH. At Joan's request there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cowichan Cricket and Sports Club, of which Joan was a Life Member.
