Harold Joseph "Kit" Carson, 63, of Vine Grove, passed away Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Carson was retired from the U.S. Army and was a voting member of the Knifemakers Guild. He was a Blade Magazine Cutlery Hall of Fame inductee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Arrie Carson, and a nephew, Glenn Carson.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Carson; two children, Jody Carson and his wife, Susan, and Kristi Carson; three grandchildren, Colton Eastman and Anya and Josephine Carson; a brother, Fred Carson; two sisters, Ann Farmer and Ruth Turpin; and a host of family and close friends.
A celebration of his life with military honors is at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the chapel of Coffey & Chism Funeral Home in Vine Grove. Visitation begins after noon Wednesday.
At the request of the family, everyone is asked to wear casual clothing and bright colors in honor of his life.

So sorry to learn of Mr. Carson's passing; condolences to family and friends. Over the years I was very excited to own several of his knives, and talked with him over the telephone. A knife making legend and great man.
