September 10, 2014 Day, Margaret Moulton age 95, passed away Wednesday September 10, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Henry Day, her brother Russell Moulton and a great-grandson Matthew Charles Swafford. She is survived by her son Gordon Robert (Marilyn) Day daughter Judy Day (Richard) Smith, grandchildren Jeff (Jennifer) Day of Pensacola, Florida, Melody (Shannon) Kilgore of Birmingham, Wendy Walker of Heflin; great grandchildren , Harrison, Whitt and Emory Kilgore; Angel and Brian Walker; Josilin Day; sister-in-law, June Moulton and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Day earned her undergraduate degree at Willamette University, Salem, Oregon and her graduate degree at Birmingham Southern College. She was an active member of East Lake United Methodist Church for over fifty years prior to transferring to Riverchase United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class. Funeral service will be Friday September 12, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel with interment to follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time on Friday.

So sorry for your loss. She was a special lady. I had her for 9th grade science. I hope you find comfort in knowing she left a legacy of the many students whose lives she touched.

Mrs. Day and I talked quite a bit when you and Marilyn went to Africia. Mrs. Day gave good advice and was such a sweet person. I am saddened to know of her passing. I know your entire family will grieve but remember to look unto Jesus for your strength and help during this time of sorrow. Jesus will see you through regard;ess of the problems you face. Mrs.Day was my Science teacher in 1964/1965! I loved her and learned a lot in her class! So sorry for your loss!

Mrs. Day was my science teacher at Irondale her last two years there. She was also my moms teacher. I enjoyed her teaching me and she will be missed.
