Maggie Carrington Obituary

VAN ALSTYNE - Maggie Lee Carrington, age 90, of Van Alstyne, Texas, passed away September 10, 2014. Maggie was born October 22, 1923, in Bryan County, Oklahoma, to Jessie Cook and Rittie Rosala (Fisher) Douglas. She married Robert Clark Carrington on November 22, 1942, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

She is survived by her son, Richard Clark Carrington and wife, Thelma of Zenia, California; grandsons, Jessie Carrington and Harley Carrington both of Zenia, California; great-grandchildren, Megan Carrington, Jessie Carrington, and Aspen Carrington of Zenia, California and Tessa Carrington, Sean Carrington, and Lillie Carrington, also of Zenia; sister, Verna Cage of Van Alstyne, Texas; and brothers, Andrew Douglas of Huntsville, Alabama and Sammy Douglas of Denison, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Dora Wright, Daisy Bickenbach, and Grace Hubble, and brother, Burton Douglas.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, September 15 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6 – 8 p.m., Sunday evening at the funeral home.
