Montville - Albert Cloutier, 93, of Uncasville, entered his eternal rest on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, while residing at Kindred Crossing in New London.
Al was born in Plainfield, on Oct. 18, 1920, to the late Victor and Annie (Bradbury) Cloutier.
He was also predeceased by two brothers, Victor and Wilfred.
After graduating high school, he married his beloved wife, Loretta (Brown), who predeceased him in 1966. Al and Loretta met while they were working at Electric Boat, where he was an electrician.
Al worked as a cookie salesman for Ann Dale most of his career, but he truly enjoyed drumming for over 45 years on nights and weekends with many bands, especially one known locally as the Vagabonds. After he retired from Ann Dale, he worked in Groton doing x-rays at Wyman-Gordon. Albie had a true love for jazz and often traveled to New York with his wife to listen to a variety of bands. He loved to fish and go clamming with his family and friends.
Al is survived by three sons, Gary Cloutier of Wallkill, N.Y., Bruce Cloutier of New London, Mark Cloutier of Oveido, Fla.; and a daughter, Jarine Lombardo of Bowdoinham, Maine. Al has nine grandchildren, and he adored each one of them. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He will be missed by many.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Gary, Bruce, Mark, Jarine and family, I'm so sorry for your loss. I have so many great memories of Albie fishing and claming at Pine Island, the cookies especially during hurricanes and as we got older the one-arm push-ups contest, he always won.. I could go on and on. He was a great person and will be missed. Cherish the memories. My prayers are with your families.

Gary,Bruce,Mark,and Jarine,
Saddened to hear the news of Uncle Albie's passing. There is no doubt in my mind that Nannie and Aunt Loretta are giving him an earful and my mom and dad are laughing like hell! He truly was a man of the greatest generation.
