She always smiled when I sang off-key at the Presbyterian Church! My only supporter, at times.

I was saddened to hear of Louise's passing. In her obituary she was described as "gracious". It was the perfect word for her. When I retired, returned to Galax, and built my house on Little River, she wanted to come out and visit. It reminded her of old camping days and spending time at the Hampton Lodge. When she left she said she wanted to return for a canoe ride. So Louise! She really knew how to enjoy life. She will be missed.

Allison, Mary and Beth,
I was so sorry to learn of your mom's passing. She was a very special lady in my life as well as her mom and Ms. Janie Waugh. Three of the finest ladies that ever graced the city of Galax! I loved it when she was my neighbor when she lived in the apartment on McArthur Street. We enjoyed many visits along with rum cake. I know each of the family will miss her but just remember you have precious memories to enjoy. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you.

Beth, Mary and Allison: Your mom was always such a strong and proud lady, and getting to visit with her was always a highlight of my childhood visits to Galax. Thoughts are with you all and your families; know that your mom is now at rest with the Lord.
