Whinery, Verla Jean (nee Kinney) Passed away September 9, 2014 at the age of 58. Loving wife of Robert D. Whinery, Jr. for 37 years; devoted mother of Shannon (Francisco) Ruiz, Erin (Kirk) Stangel, Robert, III, Philip and David; adoring grandmother of Mateo Ruiz; beloved daughter of Lucile and the late Vincent Kinney; dear sister of Mike (June), Steve, Chuck, Dave, Brian (Jeri), Marlene (John) Mellecker, Madonna Schnoebelen and Colleen (Kent) Gedlinske. She was loved and cherished by all who knew her. Memorial visitation Thursday, September 11, 2014, 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Adolf Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Ltd., 7000 S. Madison St., Willowbrook. Private family Memorial Mass at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, Hinsdale. Inurnment: St. Joseph's Cemetery, Iowa City, IA.
