Gladys Dammeyer Jersey City native Gladys Dammeyer died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at Brighton Gardens at Oak Tree, Edison, N.J. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 7 to 9 p.m., with a blessing at 8:30 p.m., at the Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Rd., Edison. Cremation is private. Gladys was born in Jersey City, N.J., and resided there before moving to Edison in 2005. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Kellogg Ship Yards in Kearny, N.J., Novack Paints in Jersey City, and retired from the Jersey City Library many years ago. She was a member and Sunday School teacher at the 2nd United Presbyterian Church, Jersey City, and was a Girl Scout leader in Jersey City. She was predeceased by her brothers, Harold and William Dammeyer, and her sisters, Ann Dammeyer and Dorothy Friedman. Surviving are her nephews, Daniel and Bruce Friedman; many great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews.
