Clark, Karl John 72 Aug. 11, 1942 Sept. 21, 2014 Karl John Clark was born Aug. 11, 1942, in Portland and died Sept. 21, 2014, in Tualatin. His roles in life at the time of his death were beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He attended Benson High School and Washington State University, where he played trumpet in the marching band and Portland State University, where he graduated in 1964, receiving a B.S. in Speech and Communications. Following some postgraduate work in public administration, he entered a lengthy career of various employment endeavors, including working for more than a decade at Tektronix as a financial analyst and district manager for the Baskin-Robbins franchises of Alpenrose Dairy. Prior to his move to Tualatin, he was a 30-year resident of West Linn. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judy Clark; daughter, Deborah Jeffries; son, David Clark; grandsons, Cason Clark and Rennick Jeffries; and brother, Theodore Clark. They will all remember with great fondness his sense of humor and wit. His perspectives often caused a smile, laugh or raised eyebrow. One of his most endearing traits was his ability to turn any collection of leftovers into an intriguing meal. He loved casseroles! Karl had an extensive collection of lions due to him being born under the astrological sign of Leo. Any special event could be counted on to add more lions to his collection. He was a fan of the Trail Blazers, Mariners and Seahawks and rejoiced in their successes. He was known for his "little pieces of paper" on which he made notes of things important to him and others. His wallet was full of these little notes on every subject imaginable, and his ability to pull out some tidbit was a source of amusement for family and friends. He was always looking for a new business opportunity which was another item of great teasing from those closest to him. His hobbies were as eccentric as his employment, collecting everything from stamps and coins to pristine action figures. Karl had a fondness for poetry, both reading and writing. He won a national poetry contest when he was in his 20s, and his interest in that writing form remained with him throughout his life. A private family gathering will be held in his memory.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I have such nice memories of Karl, Judy, Debbie and David, when we lived in Rohnert Park. Karl was such a nice man, with a lovely sense of humor. He will be fondly remembered.
