BARNES, BOBBY L., 83
Carrollton - Bobby L. Barnes, age 83, of Carrollton, passed away Wednesday, October 08, 2014. He was born January 29, 1931 in Gadsden, Alabama to the late Charles David Barnes and Neva Reeves Barnes. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked for BellSouth Telecommunications for thirty years and was a member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church in Anniston, Alabama.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Luther Boyce Barnes.
Survivors include his loving wife, Mary E. Williams Barnes of Carrollton; his children, James David and Sheryl Barnes of Lawrenceville, Gena Barnes of Douglasville, and Andrea Jo and Tony Allen of Winston; sister, Brenda and Melvin Huff of Fredericksburg, VA; six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted Friday, October 10, 2014 at 2:00 PM from Mozley Memorial Gardens with Dr. Mack Amis officiating. Pallbearers will be Eric Chappell, Harlan Tuggle, Rob Tharp, Tony Allen, Ken Huff, and Kevin Huff. The family received friends Thursday, October 09, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Scottish Rite Hospital at https:// giving.choa.org/donationform. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.martin-hightower.com. Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel of Carrollton has charge of the arrangements.
