Mrs. Terry was my photography teacher at Tarpon Springs High. She not only taught me about photography, but also taught me about compassion and hope and utimately love for other human beings. She was a true inspiration not just as a teacher, but as an individual. I will miss her greatly.

Often over the years I have thought about Mrs.Terry my high school art teacher at Mercy and hoped she was well and still teaching. As a student I looked forward to going to her art class and spending time after school in her classroom. Mrs. Terry saw potential in all her students even me who loved art but had no artistic talent. Mrs. Terry was also very generous, that woman spent most afternoons giving shoreline Mercy girls rides home. I never saw Mrs. Terry again after graduating but I wished I had so I could have said thank you for being an unforgettable teacher and for all the rides. God knows I owed that women a lot of gas money.

When I first knew Creative Playtime, around 1957, it seemed to me a timeless place that had always been just as it was. I still wonder what those tall shelves hid from my view.

Mrs. Terry was my art teacher at Mercy High School. I loved, loved, loved her! She was the best - she believed in us, but, most importantly, she managed to teach us how to believe in ourselves through our expression of art.

I was grateful that I could share that feeling with her at one of our reunions. She left an indelible mark on my soul. Her greatest works of art were the positive changes she brought about in her students.

Rest in peace my sweet teacher!
