TOMMY TALLENT
SHELBY- Herman Thomas Tallent, age 73, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. Born in Cleveland County on Dec. 10, 1940, he was the son of the late Michael Sousson and Johnnie Moore Tallent. He served his country in the U. S. Army during Vietnam Conflict and retired from Curtiss-Wright after 15 years of service. In addition to his parents, Tommy is preceded in death by a brother, J. M. Tallent; and two sisters, Ruby Skinner and Shirley Allen.
Tommy is survived by his sons, Michael A. Tallent and wife Jannie of Cherryville, Charles Roebuck and wife Niki of Aubrey, Texas, and Clayton Roebuck of Boiling Springs; two sisters, Faye Grant and Ruth Grant; five grandchildren, Alex Tallent, Arizona Tallent, Travis Roebuck, Mackenzie Roebuck, and Alex Roebuck; and former wife and friends, Patricia and Robert Hamrick of Boiling Springs.
Visitation: The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home of Michael and Jannie, 604 Leeward Ct. Cherryville.
Memorial Service: Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory with military honors.

Tommy had some great stories from his time as an officer in Boiling Springs. I always enjoyed our talks. He will truly be missed. Prayers from the officers of the Boiling Springs Police Department for the family of one of our own.

Tommy and I were best friends since we met. Tommy was 8 years old then. Our friendship has lasted since then until his passing. When we were young we were cowboys, when we grew up we worked together in law enforcement. I will truly miss you Tommy. GOD speed.
