Miller, Robert C.
Age 89 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2014. Robert was born on November 4, 1924, to Cranson and Ellamae (Yordan) Miller. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife of over 45 years, Margaret Latham Miller in 1996 and son David Miller in 2008. Robert is survived by his daughters, Wendy Miller of Gilford, NH and Amy Miller of Marlborough, NH; sisters, Evesta Wheet of Elmira, NY, Nancy Russell of Rock Stream, NY; several nieces and nephews; and the several exchange students to whom, over the years, he and his wife opened their hearts and home. Robert was a member of Our Saviour's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Horseheads. He was a retired inside lineman with NYTEL and AT&T. He was also a veteran of the US Navy. He was very involved, along with his wife, in his personal ministry of assisting and nurturing the various exchange students hosted in their home during the 1980's and 1990's. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Monday Oct. 27, 2014 from 2-4:00 p.m. His service will follow at 4:00 p.m. with their close family friends, Rev. Patricia and Rev. Keith Pittsnogle officiating. Interment will take place in Maple Grove cemetery at the convenience of the family.
