Kathy Hughey Buckner
Weaverville - Kathy Hughey Buckner, age 57, of Whitt Road died Tuesday, October 28, 2014.
Mrs. Buckner was born September 7, 1957 in Buncombe County to the late Louis C. and Viola Carter Hughey. Kathy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed gardening and her flowers. She attended Cole's Cove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by brothers, Dennis and Clyde Hughey.
Surviving are her husband of 40 years Dennis Buckner; daughter, Shelley Pegg and husband Dennis; son, Denny Buckner and wife Robin; sisters, Jo Ann Crowe, Martha Jane Williams, Sandra Benson and Bonnie Marshall; brother, Michael Hughey; granddaughter, Sidney Pegg; and special daughters, Rhonda and Jaime Sawyer.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 31, 2014, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverends Coy Hollified, Jr. and Jonathan England officiating. Burial will be in Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
At other times, the family will be at the residence.
Flowers are welcome.

Kathy was blessed by God. She knew what was important and did it with everything she had. She loved and cared for so many. She opened her home to everyone and made sure everyone felt special and welcome. We will miss her so but know that she is basking in God's glory.
