Rita M. Comer
GALION: On October 30, 2014 God called Rita Mae Comer back home after a brave battle with cancer.
Those she left behind to cherish her memory are her mother, Lela Hillis of New Port Richey, FL; her two children: Dana L. Comer and James Comer; five grandchildren; and sister, Becky Smith of Twin Peaks, Colorado to rest on the eternal shores.
She spent her life caring for the old and sick as a nurse to many. Rita loved her black and white movies and of course Elvis. She will be loved and missed by all; we love and miss you very much mom.
Rita was born May 30, 1958 in Galion to the late Kerman Ginn and Lela (Cook) Hillis.
She was a member of the Gospel Baptist Church, Galion where she was baptized in 2006. She was a lifetime member of the Galion VFW post 79. She previously worked at the Church Directories for 6 years, was a Home Health Aide, and drove school bus for Head Start in Galion.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kerman Ginn and; sister, Beatrice Ginn.
Friends may call Monday November 3 from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way N., Galion. Funeral services will be held Monday November 3, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Chaplain Jed Brake officiating.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
