Milton Behringer Obituary

Behringer, Milton H.

Milton H. Behringer, age 87, of 8220 Center Road, Newton, entered eternal life on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at his residence with his family by his side.

Milton was born on January 18, 1927 in Newton, Wisconsin. He was the son of the late Arthur and Anna Hecker Behringer. Milton attended elementary school in Newtonburg, later earning his GED and attending Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minnesota. He had been employed as an auto mechanic, also worked in maintenance and health care and retired from Manitowoc Engineering in 1995. On June 21, 1952 he married Carol Dehne at Salem Ebenezer Reformed Church in the town of Newton. She preceded him in death on June 5, 1976. He later married Rogene Scheffler Behm on August 10, 1981 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Newtonburg. Milton was a lifelong and active member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Manitowoc Historical Society.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years: Rogene; four children: Rev. James (Vicki) Behringer, Milwaukee, WI; Patricia (Larry) Kasten, Michicot, WI; Steven (Cheryl) Behringer, Haslet, TX; Joel Behringer, Upper Sandusky, OH; three stepchildren: Cheryl (Kent) Both, Columbus, OH; Randall Behm and his fiance' Ellen Goessl, Newton, WI; Todd (Janet) Behm, Appleton, WI; one sister: Leona Draheim, Manitowoc, WI; three sisters-in-law: Verlene Kollath, Lavern Schmitz, and Geraldine Scheffler; 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Arthur and Anna Behringer; his first wife: Carol; two infant children; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 6, 2014 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, 7531 English Lake Road, Manitowoc. Officiating will be Rev. Victor Headrick with burial to follow at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and then on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Aurora Sheboygan Clinic and Hospital, Aurora Hospice, especially Terri, Pam, and Dawn, and Pastors Headrick and Haag.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. John Ev. Lutheran Church or the charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences to the family may be sent to www.harriganparksidefuneralhomecom.
