Carolyn Kirkendall Pipher, 87, of Williamsport, Pa., passed away Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 at Manor Care Health Services Williamsport North. Carolyn was born in Greene, N.Y. on Jan. 5, 1927, the daughter of Luther Kirkendall Sr. and Edith Wilson Kirkendall. Carolyn loved spending time with and caring for her family. Carolyn enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cooking, canning and working crossword puzzles.
Surviving are her children, William Pipher and wife, Sue, of Elmira, N.Y.; Margaret Miller and husband, Keith, of Mountain Lake, Pa.; Barbara Merritt and husband, Edward, of Asylum township, Pa.; Gloria DeGarmo of Williamsport, Pa.; 5 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Delmer and Lois Kirkendall of Arnot, Pa.; sister, Edith Roupp of Liberty, Pa.; the father of her children, Leon Pipher Jr. of Wysox, Pa.; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Cunningham and brother, Luther Kirkendall Jr.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
Interment will be in the Wysox Cemetery, Wysox, Pa.
The family suggests that contributions may be directed to the Happy Tails No-Kill Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 68, Towanda, PA 18848 or to the Bradford County Humane Society, P. O. Box 179, Ulster, PA 18850 in Carolyn Kirkendall Pipher's memory.
